God First

How many times do you hear the saying β€œGod First”? You hear it all of the time, see it on social media under folks profile descriptions, posts, etc., but are we really putting God first or are we just following along to sound good. Most of the time, it’s the latter unfortunately. His word says we are to seek Him first but we instead, wake up, and go about our way, and getting caught up in the everyday hustle and bustle of life, completely dishonoring Him and failing to acknowledge Him, invite Him in and involve Him in our daily lives.

When it comes to first fruits, we are not giving it to Him. First fruits are not just financial, but it is also spiritual and personal (as far as our personal relationship with God). As much as He has done for us, saved us from, blessed us with, and just for Him being God Himself, why can’t we, or better yet, why don’t we spend time with Him FIRST in the morning. Why don’t we dedicate time to thank Him, fellowship with Him, LISTEN to Him, converse with Him, BUILD a relationship with Him? He honors that, and we neglect it.

First Fruits – Really Putting God First

Cain and Abel

You can see one of the first examples of this in the recounts of Cain and Abel. Cain was a gardener and Abel was a sheep herder. Cain brought his offering to God over a period of time and Abel brought his FIRSTlings of his flock to the Lord as an offering. To put it in a way you can understand, Abel brought his very best and Cain brought leftovers after he had gotten what he thought was good for him. This is NOT honoring God, neither is going throughout the day without acknowledging the Lord and giving Him control and direction over your life.

He Is Worthy

Sad thing is that we fail to realize that there is a spiritual battle going on that we can’t see and God keeps us from so much throughout the day that we don’t see, and by us not arming ourselves in the morning, we are leaving ourselves vulnerable to the devices of the enemy. HE is SO worthy and it is unfortunate that we don’t give Him the honor that He truly deserves.

Fact of the matter is, as a believer, we should know better and choose to honor God with our first fruits, whether it be our time, or our income (which He is the one who gives us the means by providing in the first place, and its rightfully His anyways), and not doing so is a sign that we are choosing to forget God in our life and instead choose to relay on our own way, and by now we should all know that our way is not the best way and His is!

Fact is, when we choose to put Him first, He will bless that…His word says it and He can’t and doesn’t go back on His word! Seek Him first to say thank you, to honor Him, to bless Him, to ask for guidance and direction, to ask how you can be used by Him, to cover you family, to petition on someone’s behalf, to just flat out grow your relationship with Him who created you.

If you haven’t already, make a change and truly choose to put GOD FIRST!

God bless you.

faces of sin part 2

Faces of Sin (part 2)

The Nature of Sin: Born into a Fallen World

Diving into study this morning, and lo and behold, the Lord puts the topic of sin back in my face. Just a confirmation of sharing His word with the sin series!

Inherited Sin: The First Adam’s Curse

First of all, we were ALL born in since because of the first Adam and the curse He brought upon mankind by disobeying God at the eating of the forbidden fruit. There is no denying that we ALL sin. The word says in 1 John 1:6-10 that if we deny the fact that we sin or have sinned, then we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not is and matter of fact, it goes on to say that we will also be calling God himself a liar and that is disrespect to Him on all levels.

Confession and Forgiveness: God’s Merciful Grace

In that it does say though, that if we confess out sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us for those sins…through the bloodshed of Christ Jesus. SO thankful that God sent His son Jesus to die for our sins and take the punishment for us. Can’t even really phantom the totality of it all to be honest, the magnitude of it is too great for us to even comprehend. I do know one thing though, I am forever grateful.

The Daily Armor: Repentance and Prayer

We have to live in a daily life of repentance because sin comes in all forms shapes and sizes and can disguise itself quickly and cunningly under the guidance of the enemy. We have to pray daily and ask for God to keep our mind and thoughts pure and stuck on Him and His ways and keep going back to that day after day, and all through the day…its that serious.

Our Battle Against the Enemy

The enemy does not sleep and is like a roaring lion prowling for whom he can devour and conquer 24/7 so we must protect ourselves with the armor God has left us with. Speaking of enemy, when we choose to live in sin now, and even before we came to Christ, we make ourselves God’s enemy, and also, when we choose to love the world more than we love God, we become His enemy. It’s our choice. Love our creator and worship Him, or love the world and worship it…I choose the first choice!

God’s Holiness and Our New Life in Christ

God is holy and can’t stand sin, and sin separates us from God. We have a wicked heart by nature, but once we have come to Christ Jesus and accepted Him as our Lord and savior, He has done a new work in us and we no longer have to operate as the Old man because He has made us a New creation and we walk in New life and under the guidance of the Holy Spirit instead of this fleshly driven being. We can’t even please God if we are walking in our flesh and not in the spirit.

Judgment Day: The Ultimate Choice

So many things we don’t even know when we don’t open up the Word of God and study for ourselves. EVERYONE will be judged when it is time and there are only two places that you can go…eternal life with the Father, or in eternal brimstone and lake of fire…again, I choose the first choice!

The Imperative of Daily Repentance

Accept the fact that we ALL need to repent each and every day in order to stay in good standing with the Father. Please do not forget it. We don’t know when it’s time, and I pray that we all recognize that and do what we are supposed to do so that we may spend the rest of eternity with our Father.

Study the Word: Building a Relationship with the Father

Always, and I mean always, study the word for yourself and get into a closer relationship with the Father and learn what He says and expects from us.

God bless you

Faces Of Sin

Faces Of Sin

Discussing the word this morning with my wife and we got into some topics of study that we’ve been doing and how there is so much in God’s word. You can read the same scriptures 1000 times and He can show you 1000 different things in it every time. She brought out a notepad from her study notes and went through some things she had jotted down concerning sin and how there were different faces or levels to it. This all blew me away because I had panned on doing a sin series in the Soul Food blog but didn’t know when to start. I decided to share some of what she had and add a little to it. Thank you Holy Spirit and thank you Babe for allowing Him to use you!

When someone says sin, we just think “sin”, and fail to realize that sin has different “faces” if you will and different attributes and personalities and different forms. They ALL will lead you to stray away from God and they ALL will lead you to hell if you don’t repent and turn away from it. God does not allow sin in His kingdom and can not stand to be around it. He is a Holy God and sin cannot be in His presence. It’s best we know what we are up against and also know that we were born in sin due to Adam’s going against God’s command of the forbidden fruit and birthing sin in mankind. It is the makeup of our hearts and nature and we are all born in it. However, that does NOT mean that we HAVE to live in sin and accept it. We do NOT have to allow the enemy to blind us by the pleasures of sin (yes it does give us a good feeling sometimes) and allow us to think it is ok. Jesus died on the cross and rose in 3 days, claiming victory over sin and giving us a way out of perishing forever in the lake of fire from sin. Thank you Jesus for your atonement and sacrifice on the cross! If we would only sit back and think on what He actually did for us..something that NOBODY else could EVER do…if we could just really ponder on that and the magnitude of it…we could never thank Him enough.

The need to repent is so severe, we sin every single day, by things we do or don’t do, according to the word of God and the will of God. We sin sometimes when we don’t even know it, so it is VERY important that we repent DAILY of our sins and ask for forgiveness in the mighty name of Jesus. Without that name behind it, it does us no good. Again, we could never thank Him enough!

God bless you!

Levels of sin

Difference between iniquity, sin, transgression

Sin is:

  • To fall short of the glory of God
  • To miss the mark, to do something against someone or God
  • Doing the opposite of what is right

Sin left unchecked or continual sin leads to a reprobate mind.

Transgression is:

  • To choose to intentionally disobey
  • Willful trespassing
  • To cross the line that can be in thought, word or attitude many times a day.

Iniquity is:

  • Sin more deeply rooted
  • Refers to a premeditated choice
  • To commit iniquity is to continue without repentance
  • When you plot to carry something out

Iniquity left unchecked leads to a state if willful sin with no fear of God.

Iniquity continued can also lead to a reprobate mind.

knowing God

Knowing or Knowing God? Cognitively or Intimately?

When it comes to the Word of God, we have to get intimate with it, read it, consume it, meditate on it, and allow it to do its work throughout our soul.

The Importance of Intimacy with the Word of God

We can know OF the word, know OF God, but do we KNOW the word and actually Knowing God…that is the real matter. To get to KNOW someone or something, you have to spend time with that person or thing in order to cultivate the relationship, and it takes time and work just like anything else.

Moving Beyond Awareness to True Knowledge

It’s not enough to be aware of the truth, just like it ain’t enough to be aware of your dinner sitting at the table. You gotta eat that dinner for it to do anything for and to your body physically. Likewise, when it comes to the Word of God, being aware of it doesn’t do anything. You gotta ingest the Word of God (John 6:35) and allow it to permeate throughout your soul in order for it to nourish and build it.

Making it a Daily Habit

Make it a daily habit, just like you get up in the morning and eat food to refuel your body to start the day. Try first eating some spiritual food and allowing it to refuel your spirit and set you right to go out and move how God wants you to move for the day.

Seeking God’s Revelation and Growth

Pray for the Father to inspire you to want to know His word on a deeper level and to get to know Him on a more intimate level. Allow Him to be first in your life each and every day (Matthew 6:33). Ask Him to show you different ways to discover more and reveal more of His truth to you through His word beyond what you have learned up to now. It can be done; none of us have arrived, and it is a lifelong race and learning experience. He can show us something new in His word each and every day if we ask Him and allow Him to.

Seek Him First!

Seek Him First! God bless you!

Jesus

The King Is Coming

The King Is Coming

Doing some studying this morning and learned that there are more prophecies of Jesus returning than of His first coming in the Bible, either by Him or by prophets. If the prophecies of Him coming happened exactly how it was written, it is safe to say that His return will happen as well.

With that being said, we need to know that Jesus’s promises are real and we should be preparing ourselves if we haven’t already, because He IS coming! He is coming for His bride (the Church), and when He comes, we need to be ready so He can take us with Him for eternity in paradise in the places that He has prepared for us as He has spoken of. (John 14:2-3)

It starts with purifying oneself through repentance and submission to Him, making peace with all men, walking in holiness, blameless without spot. He is coming like a thief in the night and only our Father God in Heaven knows when the day and time He is returning. He warns us in Mark 13:35-37 to be watchful and praying always to be prepared for His return and to not get caught up in things that will keep us from being ready (Luke 21:34).

There are so many signs all around that line up with the Holy Scriptures and they are to be trusted and believed as true tell signs of His returning soon. I just pray that those that are not taking heed to the signs and getting into His word and building a relationship with Him, will begin to listen to His voice calling them to come to Him. He loves us and wants us all to come back to Him (2 Peter 3:8-10), we have an adversary the Devil that is running amuck and doing everything under the sun to keep us From the SON…I just pray that we open our eyes before it is too late and come running to the one who truly loves us, even more than we love ourselves!

surrender

Surrender – By Any Means Necessary!

What if somebody told you that you don’t love God and you are His enemy? You might be offended right? But check this out, if you have not surrendered to His will and His way and you instead continue to run from Him and do things Your way each and every day then guess what, according to James4:4 and 1 John 2:15-16,  we, being born into sin, Are his enemy! BUT, once we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior, we are reconciled to Him and saved thru His life becoming a part of God’s family once again. The important thing AFTER that is to STAY connected to His spirit and His will by taking in His word everyday and allowing it to transform your ways as you become a new creation in Christ…SURRENDER…let go of the old things, let the old man die, as Christ perfects a new work in you.

Some may not agree with your change, your decisions, they may doubt your seriousness, ridicule you, turn against you, all that…but guess what, His word says that those that are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven. Jesus Himself said that the world hated Him before it hated Us who follow Him. They will love their own, but we are not from here and we were chosen out of this world. They persecuted Him, so they will persecute us…flat out, its expected. (John15:18-21) Will all that being said are you willing to truly surrender? It WILL cost you, but…Would you rather worship the world and praises of men, and hear β€œdepart from me, you worker of iniquity, I never knew you?’ or surrender to Christ, seek His will and His way and hear the β€œwell done my good and faithful servant” when you are face to face with Him? That day WILL and IS coming, trust and believe and when it does, I want to make sure I have done what I have to do to live in eternal paradise…besides…all that He has done for me…I OWE HIM!!

I could go on and on about Him and His word, but the things I have overcome and encountered in my lifetime could not have been done WITHOUT Him handlin it for me…thankful He took the blinders off my eyes so that I can see that. I am not perfect by ANY means, I trip, fall and bruise myself each and everyday…we have an enemy that HATES us and wants us to bring us down with him, BUT I know who I belong to and repent and come back runnin to the one that LOVES me EVERY time…I’m not perfect, but I serve a perfect God! If you haven’t yet, I pray you choose to follow Christ and allow His light to shine thru you and follow God’s ways of doing things…stop runnin FROM Him and run TO Him…the results are limitless…He gave us the blueprint…choose it and use it! Until next time…God bless!!

Foundation, Rock and Lifeline!!! ✝️ #Hispromises #faithNJesus

Foundation, Rock and Lifeline!!! ✝️ #Hispromises #faithNJesus

Doin a lil studyin this mornin and the topic was on having faith in the Lord Jesus for healing and deliverance. It was actually part 2 of the study which I had started before. The 3 means of healing is by God’s Word, God’s Spirit, and Our faith. Without these taking place, some of the healing and/or deliverance won’t take place. Now don’t get me wrong, God CAN do what He pleases and if it is in His will to heal you just because He wants to, then He will, BUT as believers we have to realize that we have a gift given to us by and thru His son Jesus and our true faith in Him. He wants us to truly believe and operate in faith to activate His miracles in our lives.

When Jesus came to those searching for healing, He looked for their faith, and faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God, so in essence, what you put into your Spirit, will do a work in you and those things will produce its fruit, whether good or bad. Positive will produce positive, negative will produce negative, things of the enemy will produce wickedness, things of God will produce light and love and faith in the things of God and the gifts and works of Jesus Christ. He told us that those who believe in Him, would be able to do the works that He does and even greater, and these are things that we need to stand on and believe because God’s word does not come back void! He has given us SO many gifts as an inheritance, we just have to look into His word and find out what the gifts are, and they are there in abundance to those that are His.

We need to stay in His word and constantly ask Him to keep us hungry for His word and continue to build that relationship and get to know Him who loved us first. We need to stay in prayer, to be obedient, to stay in close proximity with Him, to have an ear open for His spirit and a heart to receive what the Spirit tells us to do. Have a humble heart and one of repentance, not taking Jesus sacrificing Himself for our sins for granted and just living any ol kind of way we want to, not taking it into consideration that when we have already tasted the heavenly gift and good Word of God, and we choose to go the other way instead, that is like saying that Jesus isn’t good enough for us and the world is better…puttin Him up on the cross again. That is truly a disgrace and a spit to the face of God if you ask me and I refuse to do that to Him after all that He has done for me and continues to do for me.

Don’t wait till its too late to repent and come back to the Father…He is waiting, arms wide open, He will never forsake you or leave you…it is US who choose to leave Him. So ask yourself, what do you choose, eternal life with Christ? Or temporary life in the world and eternal fire. The choice is up to you! I know what I choose…Choose Christ! Our foundation, our rock our lifeline!!!
Be easy, be safe, be a blessin!

The Power Of His Word!!!

Sword of The Spirit

Use Your Weapon!

Sword of The Spirit

Use Your Weapon!

Doing some reading this mornin and thought I’d share. We’ve all heard the scriptures Ephesians 6:10-18 which tells us to Put On The Full Armor of God so that we can withstand the attacks of the enemy while we are on this spiritual daily battle in our walk with Christ, but when you stop and think about it, most of the armor is for defense; breastplate of righteousness, belt of truth, feet of peace, shield of faith, helmet of salvation, but there are two that are for offense and those are prayer and the Sword of the Spirit! Ima focus on the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.

Yeah we can defend ourselves all day long, but the devil needs to be hit and hit hard and Jesus Himself showed us what we are to do and what to use and that is Holy Scripture! When he was being tempted after fasting, for 40 days, no water, no food, imagine that, AND in that desert heat, this is when satan figured he could get Him to fold and turn away from God (even tho Jesus is God in the human form) and kill Himself while missing His purpose. He waited till He was at His lowest point to tempt Him with food, tempting Him to jump off the ledge, and tempting Him to serve him in exchange for the world.

As hard as it was and had to have been, Jesus stood firm on the Word of God and quoted scripture hittin the devil all in the head until he fled! This is EXATCLY what we are supposed to do! We are supposed to store up His word in our hearts, through studying, memorization, prayer, and meditation, and when the time comes, we are to reach in our storage and pull it out and come out swingin! SPEAK out the Word of God to the enemy…don’t just THINK it, SPEAK no better yet SHOUT it out to him…seriously..may seem weird, but you gotta remember, the battle is in the spiritual world that we can’t see, and when we speak it out, it is cutting and doing what it needs to do in the spiritual world, it’s THAT serious and THAT real! Jesus didn’t think it to the devil, he spoke it out, so we are to do the same.

We often fail to realize what or how we are to do things, but the Word of God has all the answers that we will ever need to get thru this life and get back to our home with Him. We need to learn how to apply it to our lives and use it on an everyday basis. Get into your word, eat it daily, let it nourish your soul, and use it for what its purpose is. Get closer to God and learn how He operates by meditating on His word. Allow the Spirit to open your heart to receive and understand the Word, I promise you, He WILL do it!…It is our gift from God and should not be wasted. Get the word up in ya, you wont be disappointed…it’s a lifestyle!! Use your weapon!! #besafe #beablessin #useyourweapon #wordofGod

He Does It

He Does It

Just got done spending some much needed time with the Father and was just reminded about the things the Lord has done for us. He sacrificed His life for us…ALL of us! For the atonement for our sins, so that we would be dead to sin, so that we could live in righteousness, and so that we could be healed from sickness…He rose from the tomb to conquer death and while he was gone, he went and snatched the keys from the enemy, making us free. He stands in the gap when it comes to our iniquities and shortcomings, His blood covers for us, He is the name that every knee will bow to…even the enemy and his minions know what time it is when it comes to Jesus! He is always there waiting for us to come to Him. He will never forsake us and will continue to call us, even when we don’t want to listen because He was sent to save us from eternal fire by calling us sinners to repentance, which we should be doing EVERYDAY and continuously because we are imperfect and it is our nature. God doesn’t want us to perish that way, He wants us back with Him in eternal paradise. After all that we have done and all that we continue to do, He won’t turn His face from us when we come back and truly repent and turn from our wicked ways. Not one of us is perfect and none of us are without sin, but we have someone who is that is there for us should we accept Him as our Lord and Savior, and that ONE is Jesus Christ. If you are reading this and haven’t yet, it’s not too late to submit your life to Christ and let Him start transforming your life and bring you into the family of God’s Kingdom. We are His sheep, we were or are still lost, but He is and will keep on calling…it’s time to listen and DO…stop running FROM Him and start running TO Him! Be safe and be blessed! #Jesusisking πŸ‘‘Β
