Knowing or Knowing God #timetoeat

knowing God

Knowing or Knowing God? Cognitively or Intimately?

When it comes to the Word of God, we have to get intimate with it, read it, consume it, meditate on it, and allow it to do its work throughout our soul.

The Importance of Intimacy with the Word of God

We can know OF the word, know OF God, but do we KNOW the word and actually Knowing God…that is the real matter. To get to KNOW someone or something, you have to spend time with that person or thing in order to cultivate the relationship, and it takes time and work just like anything else.

Moving Beyond Awareness to True Knowledge

It’s not enough to be aware of the truth, just like it ain’t enough to be aware of your dinner sitting at the table. You gotta eat that dinner for it to do anything for and to your body physically. Likewise, when it comes to the Word of God, being aware of it doesn’t do anything. You gotta ingest the Word of God (John 6:35) and allow it to permeate throughout your soul in order for it to nourish and build it.

Making it a Daily Habit

Make it a daily habit, just like you get up in the morning and eat food to refuel your body to start the day. Try first eating some spiritual food and allowing it to refuel your spirit and set you right to go out and move how God wants you to move for the day.

Seeking God’s Revelation and Growth

Pray for the Father to inspire you to want to know His word on a deeper level and to get to know Him on a more intimate level. Allow Him to be first in your life each and every day (Matthew 6:33). Ask Him to show you different ways to discover more and reveal more of His truth to you through His word beyond what you have learned up to now. It can be done; none of us have arrived, and it is a lifelong race and learning experience. He can show us something new in His word each and every day if we ask Him and allow Him to.

Seek Him First!

Seek Him First! God bless you!
